The conference board is please to announce two very special speakers and the return of Texas Instruments Math Rocks and Science Rules!

Stuart Murphy Keynote Speaker - Stuart Murphy
Stuart Murphy is the author of the "MathStart" series of children's books. There are 63 MathStart books — 21 in each level — with many more on the drawing boards. Three new books are released each Spring and Fall. Mr. Murphy will start our conference off with his presentation Friday Night. For more information, please visit his website.
Ed Burger

Featured Speaker - Edward B. Burger
Ed Burger is professor of mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Williams College. Burger has been honored for his innovative work in developing educational and entertaining mathematics electronic textbooks. He has been a keynote speaker, invited special session speaker, or the conference chair at a number of Mathematical Association of America and American Mathematical Society conferences.

What: Music, Hands-on “Mini-Workshops,” and the opportunity to earn T-Shirts and the Teacher’s Edition of the TI-Nspire Software (a $150.00 Value)

Where: January 23, 2010 Auxiliary Gym

Why: Network with Colleagues, Learn about TI Technology, and Have Fun!

Here’s how it works:

  • As the first step, Participants should complete green information cards found at the center tables.  Participants must provide complete contact information on the card. 
  • Bring your card to each of the four Science Stations and complete the hands-on activities.  You may start at any station. You will be guided by the Host to rotate to a new Station every 12-15 minutes.
  • TI and Clark County Staff will stamp the cards to indicate completion of each task. Participants turn in completed cards to host.
  • Each participant who receives the four stamps on his/her card will receive a Math Rocks or Science Rules Poster and T-Shirt, as well as a TI-Nspire CD when turning in a completed card (while supplies last).
